As Learning/Teaching Assistants, we are committed to supporting the children in our care and of course our colleagues. It is very important to reflect and refresh our minds on what this means. Whether you are new in the position or have years of experience, I strongly believe this workshop will be beneficial to you.
We will discuss common challenges, how we have overcome these and exchange meaningful experiences that help us to grow and celebrate our successes.
In addition, we will take time to exchange best practices that can allow us to flourish in our roles. The following are some initial thoughts that we will jointly expand on.
•Always be curious. •Provoke new thoughts and ideas. •Give constructive feedback and be open to receiving the same. •Communication. •Practice active listening. •Work independently. •Foster personal development •Don’t neglect your personal wellbeing.
Finally, come ready to share your ideas on how we can best collaborate through the Learning Assistant/Teaching Assistant WORKING GROUP.
